Many distinguished politicians, athletes and artists from the Czech Republic came out to Prague’s Old Town Square to support the global Human Rights Torch Relay.Martin Bursik, Vice-Premier of the Czech Republic and Minister for the Environment, carried the torch directly to the stage in the Old Town Square. There he passed the torch to Ms. Xinxia Jiang, a Falun Gong practitioner who was brutally tortured in a Chinese Communist Party labor camp.
During the ceremony at the Old Town Square, various notables read letters of support to the Human Rights Torch Relay including the ex-president of the Czech Republic, the Defence Secretary, the Vice-Premier for European Affairs, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bishops and Olympic silver medalist Adolfina Tacova.

On the ninth of September, during his transit in Hong Kong to Taipei for the Tibetan Human Rights International Conference, Vice President of the European Parliament, Edward McMillan-Scott addressed at a press conference that the Chinese Communist regime is committing the crime of genocide, and the Olympics should not be held in Beijing.
He stated that if the Beijing Olympics are held it would become an ¡°Olympics of genocide¡±.
He urged the American President George W Bush not to appear at the Olympics and the European Union to debate the boycott of Beijing Olympics.

Asia Pacific’s three great democracies are forging closer ties to push for better security in the region. Japan, Australia and the US strengthened their relationship at APEC with one of the most significant trilateral of the meet.
Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Japan welcomed cooperation among Japan, Australia and the United States.
Australian Prime Minister John Howard said the Trilateral Strategic Dialogue was further complemented with an Action Plan and a Joint Declaration with Japan.
He announced the Japan-Australia Action Plan at an APEC press conference on Sunday. The plan would encourage cooperation on defense, law enforcement, counter-terrorism, counter proliferation, peace operations and information exchange between the two countries.

In early September an explosion occurred near the Computer Town of Zhu Zhou City.
According to eyewitnesses, the explosion was a suicide bomber killing ten people and wounding eight.
At the time of the suicidal incident, many were inside the Internet Caf¨¦ while a fully loaded bus of students was also passing by.
The injured and dead far exceeded the official figure.

The autumn breeze has barely arrived, but Chinese people around the world are already getting ready to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival on September the twenty-fifth.
In a first of its kind event, the Divine Performing Arts Troupe is coming to Toronto to bring the beauty of this ancient holiday to Western and Chinese audiences alike.
Also known as the Moon Festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival is traditionally celebrated on the fifteenth day of the eighth month in the lunar calendar. Seen as the Chinese version of Thanksgiving, it is a celebration in which families gather to thank the heavens for the year’s harvest and to treasure the time spent together.

In India’s north-eastern state of Assam at least seven people have died in flash floods.
The floods followed heavy rains over the past three days and officials say more than a million people have been displaced.
The Brahmaputra, the region’s biggest river, and its tributaries are flowing above danger level.
Flood waters have submerged parts of the highway which connects the state with the rest of India
